Dr. Gilliland is experienced in a wide range of advanced surgical and prosthetic treatment and care, including both surgical and prosthetic phases of dental implantology. His primary clinical focus is dental implantology and full-mouth implant reconstruction, including All-on-4 /5/6, “Teeth-in-a-Day”, and “Hybrid” protocols.
In addition to the practice of clinical dentistry, he trains hospital residents at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center on the subjects of IV sedation, dental implantology, digital dentistry, oral surgery, and the management of medically complex patients.
He holds a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Surgical Fellowship with the Misch International Implant Institute, a Membership with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Fellowship with the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Membership with the Academy of General Dentistry.
He completed his residency at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, attended dental school at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he also completed an Oral Surgery Clerkship, and received a degree in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Dr. Gilliland and his wife, Ela, a Family Medicine Physician, are avid outdoor enthusiasts, and love to glamp/camp, hike, bike, kayak, and ski. They have a shared interest in the science of human longevity and performance, and in strategies to delay the onset of chronic disease.
